Markeisha's Ensley's EP Release party (featuring Regi Ransdell)

Markeisha Ensley

Last Thursday night we headed down to Sullivan Hall for Markeisha Ensley's EP release party. Annie Fitzgerald was the opening act and has a pure soothing Sarah McLachlin-esque voice. It was the calm before the storm because the highly anticipated performance of Regi Ransdell was next.

Regi and his band

Regi has been diligently working on his music for some time now and I couldn't WAIT to hear him perform some of his original material. If you've ever heard him sing, you know exactly why!
It was well worth the wait! Regi hit the stage with a killer performance of "Use Me" which would make Bill Withers proud, and had complete crowd participation on his self-penned "In Over My Head" (my fave Regi song to date).

Regi Ransdell

This dude made the guitar cry!! Awesome job!

With Regi's southern charm and boyish grin, he owned the stage, and like he said "warmed up the stage" for Markeisha.

Markeisha performed songs from her new record, and even paid tribute to the incomparable Whitney Houston with a fun rendition of "How Will I Know?" (I asked her to wear a bright pink bow but she opted for a flower instead :) but when she announced that she was going to sing one of my absolute all-time faves "At Last", I secretly cringed. There are very few people who do justice to that song: Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, and the late great Miss Etta James, all put their indelible mark on the classic.
Now Markeisha can add that song to her set list anytime! She sang with grace and I love her version. I approve!

Here's one of my friends, Angelo, on background vocals
I love his voice!

The sax player I wanna marry!
